Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats
Why Nigerian Dwarf Goats?
We spent a lot of time researching the various breeds of goats and decided the nigerians were the breed for me because:
1. They are small, ( most of our adults weighing around 70 pounds) making them easy to handle, even for the smallest of Peckmans. Smaller goats allowed us to build smaller shelters, put up 4 foot high fencing, and not spend as much money on hay and grain. (Smaller nanny berries too!) yahoo!
2. They are Dairy Goats. One of the reason we wanted goats was that we wanted to make cheese. Milking the goats by hand has taught us a lot about what to look for and to breed for in a dairy goat. (Oh, the stories we could tell)
3. Personality, personality,personality-These goats got plenty of it. They are energetic and friendly but not overwhelming. Each one is unique and special. WE LOVE THEM!

What are our goals?
To breed the very best of course. We feel as though we have purchased some of the best genetics on the East coast and are striving to produce the “perfect” dairy goat... goats with outstanding confirmation and amazing capacious udders. Equally of importance are goats that are healthy and friendly.

Well, get a tall glass of tea (here in the south we like it sweet), pull up a chair, and feel free to wander about the website. If you have any questions or comments, drop us a line.

We are the Peckmans and we’ve been raising Nigerian Dwarf Goats since 2001 (and children since 1995). We live on about 6 acres in Orange County North Carolina. We have a plethora of animals including amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. Of all the animals here, I can say without a doubt, that we are completely addicted to the goats.
